The Quran has been a source of inspiration and guidance for the aspirant seeker since its inception and first revelation upon the heart of Prophet Muhammad, the beloved of God and the best of creation. Countless generations from all disciplines have devoted their lives to unearthing the Quran’s priceless gems. Yet, the Quran remains inexhaustible, and scholars’ assiduous and enduring work continues unabated. In this spirit, Mr. Mohammed Hameed Siddiqui has written this book so that it may lead to the advancement of knowledge while applying the priceless Quranic teachings to our modern-day context.

Volume 1 is organized into three parts; the Quran for All Times is a superb investigation that will invariably benefit both the students of knowledge as well as scholars. The first part examines the multifarious and multifaceted scientific truths embedded in the Quran. The Quran is not a book of science. Despite this, numerous facts and realizations verified by science are ensconced in the Quran.

Some of the topics explored in this book include the creation and expansion of the universe, the equilibrium and balance in the solar system, plate tectonics, the protective roof in the sky, the mechanism of rain, the barrier between sweet and salt water, embryology, and so forth. These subjects and several additional ones are analyzed with clarity and circumspection in a manner easily comprehensible to the ordinary reader. This exposition equips the seeker of knowledge with the scholarly resources needed nowadays. At the same time, it ratifies a believer’s core convictions, upholding the validity and veracity of the Quran as a Divinely inspired revelation.

The second part is dedicated to discussing social and ethical relations. Some of the issues covered include the concept of moderation and justice in the Quran, the embodiment of democratic principles, the ethics of war, human rights, gender equality, treatment of the disabled, animal rights, and so forth. As clearly evident, these issues are germane to our complex and interconnected world, and knowledge of them from an Islamic perspective is imperative and inescapable. The Quran and Hadith proofs are first presented for consideration, and Mr. Siddiqui extrapolates the gems from our textual sources to illuminate our understanding of the human condition.

The final part of volume one probes the commonly held stereotypes, and misperceptions people harbor about Islam and Muslims. Even though we live in a globalized world where access to information is virtually universally available, the human gap between people seems to be increasing. This portion of the book seeks to bridge this human gap and sheds much-needed light on various topics, including the misunderstood concept of Jihad, violence in the Muslim world, the myth of misogyny, Islam, and backwardness, and the fatuous notion that Islam is intolerant.

Volume Two supplements Volume One and is a compendium of religious history supported by prima facie evidence from numerous historical sources. Some of the topics that are explored include the history and resting places of all the prophets mentioned in the Quran, historical events described in the Quran corroborated by science, a comparative perspective on the role and status of prophets among the Abrahamic faiths, an overview of important religious landmarks and several other pertinent issues. Once again, the purpose is to affirm that the Quran is not antiquated and infallible.

Overall, The Clear Signs™ of the Quran is an indispensable resource for people of all faiths, irrespective of faith. May the Almighty grant countless blessings to Mr. Siddiqui and his entire family for the tireless work involved in the culmination of this timely text. May it prove to be a source of enrichment and illumination for the rest of us.

This is one of the most important recent published works in the field of Qur’anic studies, which demonstrates the eternal message of the Qur’an. It elaborates on the absolute knowledge of our Creator. It compares it with how mankind rediscovered the scientific truths which are enshrined in the Qur’an and how the laws in nature are in consonance with divine laws. The balance and equilibrium that exists in every part and particle of the universe prove the existence of the intricate hand that created these and controls every moment in time from eternity.

While the Age of Reason was based on secular atheistic postulates and theories, empirical scientific methods have, in fact, concluded that the universe had a starting point that proves the existence of a Creator and Sustainer. The finely tuned laws and constants in nature – physics, chemistry, and biology – affirm the truth known to mankind from time immemorial. Modern science has reaffirmed these very facts through studies in every discipline. Astronomical observations and calculations, life and life forms, geological formations, and earth sciences adequately establish these truths. Despite such clear signs in nature and science, one wonders how any scientist can deny the existence of God, and the truth revealed in the Qur’an.

Whether it be from Hubble and Einstein’s formulas and theories to prove the origin of the universe and the big bang or the Qur’anic description of heavenly bodies like galaxies, meteors, supernovas, or the smallest of particles like atoms, protons, neutrons, electrons, and sub-atomic particles, his book shows how the Holy Book has beautifully described them centuries before modern scientific discoveries. The same goes with life and life forms from the smallest of creations to the largest. The greatest marvel in nature is human life, its creation, and every part of the human body. The processes in nature seem to have been artistically painted in the Holy Book. This book is an eye-opener as it details various conclusions drawn over the past few decades in various science disciplines. Mohammed Hameed Siddiqui has gone into the details of each postulate and theory and has given the conclusions drawn through observation, empiricism, and analysis. His use of the scientific method is of immense importance and a must-read for every inquisitive mind.

Siddiqui has also examined various practices and commandments given in the Qur’an and how these lead to a wholesome life for human beings in light of scientific facts. He also addresses the issue of miracles in the Qur’an, including its linguistic structure and morphology. The prophecies in the Qur’an and their fulfillment over time are eye- openers.

He beautifully outlined the Qur’anic case for fair, just, and moderate nations in the second part. It is these principles that eventually lead towards a wholesome life for mankind, leading towards democratic principles, a judicial system, a striving for goodness and justice through jihad and ijtihad, the establishment of human rights, equality for all human beings, women’s rights and the family structure in society, a welfare system for the rich and poor, freeing mankind from various abominations including slavery, sharing of wealth, an equitable business and trading atmosphere, and so many other aspects of the Islamic worldview and human life. He shows how Islam is the factual basis for all mankind to follow.

Lastly, he also addresses the issue of misconceptions that have crept into the minds of non-Muslims due to the onslaught of hostile media and centuries of false accusations that have plagued Western readers. He has discussed the issues of terrorism, violence, conversion to Islam purportedly by force, supposed oppression of women, turmoil in Muslim countries, polygamy, hijab, laws of inheritance, sectarianism, life after death, issues of ethics and honesty, and several other issues.

The second volume of his work takes us through a journey of archeological sites, remnants of previous civilizations, and stories of prophets and nations of the past. The Middle East has a wealth of such sites that have been preserved over the millennia, and we can piece together various parts of the history of these nations as described in the Qur’an. A visit to these places gives the traveler and pilgrim a better understanding and appreciation of the message of the Qur’an and how Allah has endowed some nations and people with rewards. In contrast, he punished others for their disobedience. He has described numerous landmarks and given biographies of key personalities who existed before and after the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

These two volumes are an excellent source of reference, and every household should keep a copy handy to reflect upon these topics and to gain knowledge about the depths and heights of God’s creation and the message of the Qur’an.
